d’Italia’s agents travel to Italy, France and other fashion capitals every 6 to 8 weeks to source the fabrics for the upcoming seasons. Our stock is constantly changing to keep up with the ever-evolving trends in fashion and season.
Yes- we offer small strips of fabric complimentary. However, many of our customers prefer to purchase 10cm strips as they provide a more true representation where a proper colour match or pattern is essential.
This service is extended to interstate telephone/mail enquiries; however, please note that we are unable to guarantee the availability of fabric in the short-term future as our stock moves rapidly.

You can come to d’Italia with just a vision or idea and work with your dressmaker to come up with the finer details. If you’re unsure, your consultant will guide you through various images to help you decide on the perfect option. It is usual for dressmakers to work off design sketches from d’Italia, and then in the process of fittings, the design is fine-tuned on the body. The dressmakers make their own patterns, regardless of whether they are making something from a sketch, from a photo or copying an existing garment – so it is completely unnecessary to bring your own patterns.

Unlike other fabric shops, d’Italia only includes current season stock. We do not hold old, past-season or outdated fabrics. Our fabric stock is produced in Europe, and other textile hotspots, in small quantities that will never be reproduced.
Appointments are encouraged for those who would like to be served with minimal interruptions. It is essential, especially for brides and bridal groups, to book appointments, as it is more practical to have one of d’Italia’s bridal experts allocated to help you personally.
We recommend booking your seamstress in advance to avoid disappointment. Each bride and each dress is unique, and thus, timelines are unique. We’ll plan a fitting appointment schedule with you well in advance of your big day to ensure your dress is ready on time. d’Italia’s seamstresses are regularly booked up to 12-18 months in advance of the event.
The average cost of d’Italia custom-made garments – including couture and fabric – ranges from:
