In an industry where the bridal market can be inundated with generic and standard gowns, it’s extremely exciting for us to be able to create unique one-off pieces for our lovely brides. Every gown we design is different from the one before it, which makes this process even more special for us. We absolutely adore working one-on-one with our brides, from finding out the little details about their theme, décor, colour palette, flowers and venue etc. All of this information helps our designers get a good sense of your style and personality so we can ensure that your piece perfectly reflects you and all that you love.

Meeting with our bride for the first time to chat about all their ideas, inspirations and goals would have to be one of the most exciting parts of the process. Our team of designers at d’Italia are all so passionate about what they do. We love getting creative and thinking up some innovative and modern concepts. But most of all, we love being inspired by our bride’s ideas and then being able to sketch up an exclusive couture piece just for them. Once all your ideas are finalised and your custom design is refined, we get to explore our incredible range of designer fabrics and exclusive French laces. This part has to be my personal favourite! We’re very lucky to be able to work with some of the best and highest quality materials in the World. From our delicate French bridal laces, to our intricate and hand-beaded designs, the options are truly limitless. An average day at d’Italia consists of sketching, draping the bridal fabrics on our brides, to pinning up the laces and sourcing the perfect embellishments to complete your look.

As our brides go into production with their mock-up trial run, our Wedding Dress Designers are always working hard to keep track of every fabric order. We check in with our off-shore fabric mills on a near daily basis to ensure everything is on track and running smoothly for delivery. It can get quite busy during the peak season but it’s always exciting when a lace is ready to be shipped out. Completing a gown can be a bittersweet feeling for us all as we absolutely love the creation process and can become quite connected to the dress, especially seeing it come to life on our brides. When we see our brides walk down the aisle in their custom bridal gowns, we realise exactly why we love being a part of this journey.
